The Norwegian Emigrant Museum

A walk through the open-air Norwegian Emigrant Museum provides an experience of the life in a Norwegian settlers community in the American Midwest in the 19th century, including the Oak Ridge Memorial Church, built in Minnesota in 1896.

More than one million Norwegians emigrated between 1825 and 1940. Per capita, only Ireland has more emigrants than Norway. People abroad with Norwegian ancestors outnumber the current population of Norway.
