The Alf Prøysen House - Prøysenhuset
The songwriter, singer, actor and author Alf Prøysen grew up as a poor peasant’s son by Prestvegen in Ringsaker.
Prøysen was considered an artist primarilly for children, but has in more recent times been recognized as one of the absolute greats in Norwegian cultural history. Prøysen has, among other things, been referred to as "Norwegian Bruce Springsteen for his time".
Prøysenhuset is a small experience center that is idyllically located in the forest right on the upper side of the homestead Prøysen, where Prøysenstua, Prøysen's birthplace and childhood home, still stands.
