Ekebergrestauranten - The Ekeberg Restaurant

In the lower end of the sculpture park is the Ekeberg Restaurant - where both the balcony and, not least, the outdoor terrace offers perhaps best view of Downtown Oslo.

Here you can have lunch or dinner (for example pizza from a wood-fired pizza oven) or just enjoy a cold refreshment while having a breathtaking panoramic view of the Opera, Barcode, Bjørvika, the fortress and the rest of downtown Oslo including the fjord! Quite busy on sunny summer afternoons, but highly recommended!

The beautiful building was designed by Lars Backer for the municipality of Oslo in 1929. It is is considered nothing short of one of Europe's foremost Functionalistic Buildings. The building is on protected list but expensively modernized in recent years.
