Brumunddal may not be the largest city, but it is by no means lacking in charm. The fact that the city is small does not mean a shortage of restaurants, there are plenty to choose from! The town center square is a 10-15 minute pleasant bike ride from Topcamp Mjøsa, with a nice selection of restaurants, cafes and pubs.
Matfatet is one of the places that should definitely be checked out. It is a showcase for short-traveled food, with lots of local speciality products and ingredients from local farms and producers. You can buy very fresh ingredients from the fresh food counter, or you can try something from the menu and eat there. They serve among other things salads, croque monsieur, burgers, cakes, sandwiches and a dish of the day.
Almost next door is the bakery Bakeriet in Brumunddal, which will tempt you with sandwiches, delicious salads and freshly baked bread, buns and cakes. We recommend the local specialty Brumunddalsbollen. In the square You will also find the Hjørnet Gastrobar, which offers everything from burgers and sandwiches to beef, fish and mussels and more. Right next door to Hjørnet, is the fine dining restaurant SMAK. On the SMAK menu you will find things like cod, tenderloin, scallops, elk, char, monkfish and lamb carré, in addition to several vegetarian and vegan options.
