Climbing the 3,000 steps up the mountain gives you an incredible hiking experience. The staircase was built by Nepalese Sherpas and has a vertical rise of 818 meters. The ascent takes between two and three hours, and you'll have a constant view of Mosjøen's city center.

As you get closer to the top, you'll be rewarded with panoramic views of the surrounding mountains, and on clear days, you can see as far as The Seven Sisters in Sandnessjøen.

2. Break out of your comfort zone with Via Ferrata

Hi North organizes Norway's northernmost Via Ferrata course in Mosjøen. This climbing route features natural steps and grips and is secured with a wire so that even those without climbing experience can participate. However, the course can still be challenging, and there is an age limit of 12 years.

The route is 400 meters long, with a vertical rise of 660 meters. The experience almost guarantees an adrenaline rush, a sense of accomplishment, and an incredible view if the weather cooperates. The adventure starts in the Helgeland staircase.

3. Thrilling zipline ride

Get a real adrenaline rush and experience an unforgettable ride on the zipline. It stretches from Storfjellet to the end of Sjøgata and is a 700-meter-long, fast-paced, and airy experience.

4. Culture and history in Sjøgata

The charming, well-preserved old town of wooden houses is Mosjøen's foremost tourist attraction. Sjøgata has Northern Norway's longest continuous wooden house settlement from the 1800s.

The street is bustling with restaurants, shops, museums, galleries, art exhibitions, antique stores, festivals, and much more.

Sjøgata isn't just a museum or a nostalgic backdrop but is a vibrant part of Mosjøen's city center.

5. Relaxation at the city beach and park

The city beach is a short distance from Sjøgata and is the perfect spot to unwind on warm days. It features a 200-meter-long sandy beach, a modern park with playground equipment, a bonfire site, tables, and benches. The area also has palm trees and wooden sunbeds. You can enjoy lunch under the palm trees and take a dip in the fresh fjord.

The Mosjøen city park is a cultural and historical site consisting of three parts: the 1900 park, the 1948 park, and the 2000 park. The 2000 section includes a memorial for the victims of the terrorist attack on July 22, 2011.

The park is an open-air museum, but it's also a great place to relax and take in the fresh air. With a lawn, flowers, trees, a fountain, and a beautiful pavilion from 1937, the park is a lovely place to find peace.

6. Unique experience with cave exploration

Exploring the Øyfjell cave takes you into the dark and unknown. This 500-meter-long limestone cave offers an experience like no other!

Inside the cave, there is an underground river with narrow passages. You should expect a bit of crawling.

The tour is suitable for most people and takes about 3 hours. You will be provided with a boiler suit, helmet, headlamp, and gloves.
