Green Key certified companies meet strict environmental requirements in the following 14 areas: environmental management, personnel involvement, guest information, water, washing and cleaning, waste, energy, food, indoor climate, outdoor area, social responsibility, environmental activities, administration and conference.
Topcamp has also made it possible for you as a guest to make environmentally friendly choices, among other things by offering organic, locally produced, or Fairtrade-labeled food, through invitations to reuse towels, etc.
Our purpose with environmental certification is to promote sustainable tourism, as well as to help prevent climate change by rewarding and supporting companies that implement positive environmental measures. Green Key aims to change the practice and behavior of tourism actors, including guests, businesses, governments and local communities, in a sustainable direction. This is done by raising awareness among both employees and guests, by promoting sustainable routines and the use of technology, by supporting environmentally friendly and responsible companies, reducing energy consumption and resource consumption.
Green Key is one of the largest global environmental certification schemes for accommodation with over 2700 certified companies in 56 countries. The scheme is the only environmental certification for accommodation in Norway that has achieved the Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC) Recognized award.
