Ål and its surrounding areas are a true haven for those who love skiing. You will find over 400 kilometers of cross-country skiing trails, catering to both experienced skiers and beginners alike. The trails are GPS tracked, allowing you to keep track of where the freshly groomed trails are.

For those who prefer speeding down the slopes, there are several alpine centers nearby. Visit, for example, Ål Ski Center, which offers multiple downhill slopes, a dedicated area for children and families, a terrain park, and dining facilities.

Kiting

Kiting is an experience that is guaranteed to make the butterflies in your stomach flutter. Stand on a snowboard or a pair of skis and use the wind as your engine. Bergsjøstølen is actually one of the leading places for kiting. They offer kite rentals as well as several courses.

Enjoy the mountains

Ål and its surroundings are a paradise for those who love mountain skiing. Ål offers white peaks and tranquil forests, making winter even more magical. It's great to explore the mountains around Reineskarvet and Lauvdalsbrea, but be prepared for a long hike.

We have a dedicated sledging hill at Topcamp Hallingdal where children can play for hours. However, if you're looking for more speed and excitement, Skarslia Ski and Sledging Center is just a short drive away. You can use a sled or rent a toboggan and race down two of Norway's longest sledging hills!

Winter at Langedrag

The animals at Langedrag haven't gone into hibernation, and the park is lovely to visit year-round. Visit the wolves, lynxes, and arctic foxes, or get into the Christmas spirit when visiting the reindeer! Feel an immense power with dog sledding or take an idyllic horse ride in the mountain. Langedrag also offers sleigh rides, and various Christmas activities in the time leading up to Christmas.

Dog sledding

Ice skating and skiing at Topcamp Hallingdal

You don't have to go far to hit the ski trails when staying with us. In fact, you can almost step out the door and go straight onto the trails. We also have an ice skating rink where both children and adults can have fun.

Ice fishing

How about trying your luck with ice fishing? Ål is a paradise for ice fishing! There are several lakes suitable for this, such as Vatsfjorden, Bergsjøen, or Rødungen. Make sure the ice is safe before venturing onto it.

Fishing permits can be purchased at www.inatur.no and via text message. For fishing permits for Rødungen, there is a self-service box in the parking lot 'Slakteplassen.'
